Dear users of the serial transmission unit, EX260-SEN#,
Please be informed of the handling precautions of the setup file, EDS.


Usage of the new EDS file (ex260-sen#_##_v21.eds)

1. This new EDS file is used for SI unit (EX260-SEN#) of the 
   device revision 2.1 manufactured after March, 2013.

2. If the new EDS file is used for older SI units than the device revision 2.1,
   the old models cannot be operated in some types of PLC.
   In this case, use the old EDS file.


Usage of the old EDS file (ex260-sen#_##_v11.eds)

1. This old EDS file is used for SI unit (EX260-SEN#) of the
   device revision 1.1 manufactured before February, 2013.

2. If this old EDS file is to be used for the SI unit (EX260-SEN#) of the device
   revision 2.1 manufactured after March, 2013, the newly added 
   parameter functions can not be set.
   The following three are the newly added parameter functions.
    - DLR (Device Level Ring) function (*)
    - EtherNet/IP QuickConnect function (*)
    - The "Point-to-Point" PLC input data sending method to the 
     "Target -> Originator Connection Type" section
    (*) Please refer to the "Note" below.
  There will be no problem in using the old EDS file when these functions are not used.


Note
1) DLR (Device Level Ring) function
Please refer to the following website for reference. You can also refer to the ODVA relevant website.
(The ODVA is an association propagating the use of EtherNet/IP.)

2) EtherNet/IP QuickConnect function
This function is to facilitate the start-up of the communication when the power supply is rebooted.
The time consumed depends on the condition of the system, and support on the master side is required.
